Aufgaben:

• Durchführung aller erforderlichen chemischen, physikalischen und mikrobiologischen Laboruntersuchungen
• Durchführung von Eingangskontrollen und Endproduktkontrollen
• Datenerfassung im laboreigenen EDV-System
• Entnahme von Proben nach Prüfplan
• Einhaltung der gültigen Arbeits- und Verfahrensanweisungen im Bereich Qualitätssicherung und Hygiene

• Erfolgreich abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung zum milchwirtschaftlichen Laboranten oder eine vergleichbare Ausbildung
• Kenntnisse im Umgang mit den MS-Office-Anwendungen und mit Labordatenerfassungssoftware

DP Supply invests in a new Tech Center and joins forces

Newly built Tech Center

A complete new state of the art Tech Center has been established at the site of our sister company DOC Kaas. Besides providing application trainings to our customers and distributors, our R&D and Application team will make use of the advanced technologies installed to develop the most innovative products according to market trends and customer needs.

A fresh start

Since October 2020, our R&D department is already settled in the Tech Center. As from 22 March, our Management, Sales, Procurement and Financial departments will follow.

During the week from 15 till 19 March the move will get started. Possibly, our colleagues will not be available on Friday 19 March. We will be settled in the new offices in Hoogeveen by Monday, 22 March.

Product development is the lifeblood of the food industry, from refining an established product range to developing completely new products.

The product development process encompasses all steps needed to take a product from concept to market availability. This includes identifying a market need, researching the competitive landscape, conceptualizing a solution, developing a product roadmap, building a minimum viable product, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating and making the final purchasing decisions for products
• Enhance texture, functionality and appearance of product formulations
• Design and conduct sensory studies around in-house and external products

Product example

One example of product development in the bakery segment is our newly developed BATTICS 126 PF. This product answers to our customer request for a palm-free batter stabilizer that improves the aeration and stability of the batter. Using such a batter gives a high baked cake with fine crumbs and a good taste and mouthfeel. The product was developed in a fast development track in close cooperation with the customer and upscaled readily once the pilot samples were approved. As a result the customer was able to hop on to the palm-free trend in time.

New tower
In 2019 DP Supply commissioned a new dryer in a new building on its existing Beesten site.
The tall-form MSD dryer with fluid bed is unique in its kind and built using state-of-the-art technology. It is designed to manufacture ingredients for infant nutrition and thus meets the highest standards.

Irene: Welcome to DP Supply

In which department are you working and what are your tasks?

Jendo: I am working in the R&D department and am responsible for infant nutrition and nutritional products.

Irene: How did you find out about DP Supply and what was the reason to apply for this job?

Jendo: I already heard about DP Supply as I have been working in the ingredients market for quite some time and knew a number of former  few colleagues who are currently working at DP Supply as well. Then I heard that DP Supply is about to venture in infant nutrition …A few days later I got a call from Sierk; very straight and smart as we know him, he said: “Hi Jendo – Sierk speaking – I have a job for you! … I was eager to contribute in setting up this new segment at DP Supply and together with DMK Baby we can play a big role in the IFT market of the future.

Irene: Have you been working in this field before?

Jendo: I have been working for 10 years in another dairy company of which I spent 5 years in the R&D department followed by a function on the commercial side - all infant nutrition related.

I worked in sports nutrition for a short time as well.

This is what describes my passion: I like to work with nutritional products

I foresee that nutritional products will become even more important than they are nowadays. The future for the dairy industry lies in nutritional products. DP Supply entering in this segment is a logical step and very exciting.

Irene: What kind of study did you do?

Jendo: I studied food technology in Bolsward and Wageningen.

Irene: What job have you been dreaming of when you were little?

Jendo: As a kid you normally dream of being a fireman, a gardener or so. I have a very broad interest in hard science of chemistry and physics but also the more commercial side of business. You can find a combination both in food technology. This is why I started with food technology and this is still a big driver for me.

Irene: What are your hobbies/ spare time activities/ family situation?

Jendo: My job is good combinable with my family situation (married with two daughters) and leaving some time to do other things like sports (triathlon) and working in the garden around the house.

By the way, doing triathlons or raising babies are excellent ways of feld testing nutritional products!

Irene: 3 words that would describe you and DP Supply  

Jendo:

Meet Saber Said - new member of our MEA Sales team

Since May 2020, Saber Said is member of the DP Supply family. He is part of our Sales team and amongst others responsible for the MEA region.

Sierk: How did you find out about DP Supply and what was the reason to apply for this job?

Saber: DP Supply has built up a very good reputation in the market of food ingredients. The strategy to expand in the MEA region with huge opportunities is a challenge I’m gladly willing to be a part of it. I know Sierk for some years already – he has not only a great reputation in the market but also a brilliant network.

Sierk: In which department are you working and what are your tasks?

Saber: I started working at DP Supply’s Sales department for the MEA region where I am aiming to build up a sustainable business relation with existing customers and explore new business opportunities. And hopefully I can be a link to wheyco and DMK Ingredients too.

Sierk: Have you been working in this field before?

Saber: Since 2006 I am active in the ingredients market; 3 years from this journey was at Kerry Ingredients where I was selling Topping base products. Later on I joined Symrise a German based flavor giant. That is also where I know you (Sierk) from.

Sierk: Where do you come from and where did you study?

Saber: I am Egyptian originally and did a commercial study with MBA in marketing.

Sierk: What job have you been dreaming of when you were little/ what made you study…?

Saber: My dream after graduation was to work in sales where I can achieve perfect results and dealing very well with people. I have started 2004 and since that time I didn’t change and to enhance the sales talent I have studied marketing thru MBA. In 2011 I have decided to join Kerry as multinational company to increase my experience in big environment.

Sierk: What are your hobbies/ spare time activities/ family situation?

Saber: In the past I was practicing Kung Fu and playing football but now  I only play football.

I have quite a big mission with my family as I have: my mom, wife, and 3 children;  besides I have 5 married sisters. After my dad passed away 16 years ago, I was responsible for the whole family. I believe I did a great job so far and believe I am a real family man and believe that all strength starts in a stable and happy family. This is what I try to  teach my children.

A very HOT ITEM is the reduction of trans fatty acids. Since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has required partially hydrogenated oils (PHO’s) to be phased out, as they are increasing the risk of coronary attacks and type 2 diabetes, it has become obligatory to replacing those raw materials by other oils and fats. Sunflower oil, soy and the unhydr. version of coconut and palm oils are very common solutions. DP Supply has developed a range of products using Shea olein as fatsource. These products are not a compromise but convince with quality and taste and are an exceptional good example for sustainability.

Rund 20 Millionen Euro hat die 1992 gegründete und seit 2012 vollständig zum Deutschen Milchkontor (DMK) gehörende DP Supply GmbH bereits 2010 in die Modernisierung und den Umbau des ehemaligen Nordmilch-Molkereistandortes in Beesten zu einem Trockenwerk investiert. Groß war seinerzeit im südlichen Emsland die Erleichterung über den Einstieg des im niederländischen Emmen ansässigen Unternehmens in den traditionsreichen Beestener Produktionsbetrieb und dem damit verbundenen Erhalt vieler Arbeitsplätze.

Aktuell rund 100 Mitarbeiter

Nach dem Umbau im Oktober 2010 arbeiteten dort etwa 70 Fachkräfte, die anfangs jährlich rund 20.000 Tonnen Emulsionen auf pflanzlicher Basis sprühtrockneten - mehrheitlich Kaffeeweißer.

2016/17 gab es schließlich erhebliche Umstrukturierungen. Mit den Geschäftsführern Patrick Weber (COO) und Sierk Weisser-Krepetin (CEO) kamen international erfahrene Manager – und es änderte sich vieles: „Produktpalette, Prozesse und auch Technologien wurden verbessert und aufgewertet." Auch der Fokus weg vom Kunden ,rund um den Kirchturm` habe sich geändert: Heute gehen mehr als 60 Prozent der Produktion in den Export. Auf diese Weise sei laut der Geschäftsführung DP Supply im industriellen Lebensmittelgeschäft zu einer international bekannten Marke geworden.

"Nicht beim Personal gespart"

„DP Supply hatte eine gute Basis. Die Veränderungen mussten aber durchgeführt werden, um das Unternehmen sicher in die Zukunft zu führen. Wir haben auch nicht beim Personal gespart, sondern konsequent in unsere Belegschaft und die Technologie investiert. Jetzt sind wir fit für die Zukunft", erklärte Weisser-Krepetin. Inzwischen ist die Produktion voll ausgelastet und im südlichen Emsland arbeiten rund 100 Personen für DP Supply. Seit 2014 gibt es zudem eine Produktion in Griechenland, über weitere Investitionen in Beesten und an anderen Standorten „wird nachgedacht".

Mit dem derzeit entstehenden neuen Sprühturm II werden nach Angaben der DP-Geschäftsführer in einem Gespräch mit unserer Redaktion auch die neuesten Staub- oder Lärmemissionsrichtlinien eingehalten und zum Teil deutlich unterschritten. „Künftig können wir dank dieser Technik auch auf geänderte Kundenwünsche noch flexibler reagieren und weitere hoch spezialisierte Produkte herstellen", ergänzte Weisser-Krepetin.

Mehr Gesundheitsnahrung

„Perspektivisch möchten wir in Beesten verstärkt die Bereiche ,Gesundheit` und ,Gesundheitsnahrung´ (nutritional food) in den Blick nehmen. Der Standort soll so zu einer tragenden Säule innerhalb des DMK werden. Wir sind überzeugt, dass wir dies mit unseren Mitarbeitern und der Unterstützung der Gemeinde meistern werden", betonte Patrick Weber. Die Arbeiten am neuen Produktionsturm laufen auf Hochtouren, Anfang April soll dieser in das ebenfalls neue Gebäude eingehängt werden. „Das wird ein Spektakel, wenn der Turm auf mehr als 50 Meter hochgezogen wird und dann Schritt für Schritt im Gebäude verschwindet. So etwas kann man europaweit nicht oft sehen."

Turm wurde vor Ort produziert

„Der Turm wurde dafür in bis zu 4,20 Meter breiten Einzelsegmenten vor Ort montiert, während im Werk wie gewohnt produziert wurde. Im Herbst 2019 soll der neue Turm dann endgültig die Produktion aufnehmen", erklärte Werksleiter Andreas Dunker. Im Zuge der Baumaßnahme, in der bis zu 120 Techniker und Arbeiter von Fremdfirmen auf dem Gelände arbeiten werden, wird zudem die Produktion im gesamten Werk optimiert und den heutigen Anforderungen angepasst.

„Wir setzen auf Wachstum in der Region und wollen uns nochmals für das Verständnis aller Anlieger und Nachbarn bedanken", erklärten die Geschäftsführer abschließend: „Die Auswirkungen der Baumaßnahmen auf den örtlichen Verkehr sowie die Bevölkerung versuchen wir auch, so gering wie möglich zu halten."
